Over the last 15 years, Nadeem has worked in executive roles at the intersection of mobility, energy, and climate. His focus has been commercializing and scaling “first of its kind” technologies that enable meaningful decarbonization of the global economy.

Biography

As a VP on the leadership team at Lyft, Nadeem drove Lyft’s strategy to deploy electric autonomous vehicles including partnerships, infrastructure, fleet management, and tech development. His team also built one of the world’s first and largest commercial autonomous vehicle services. Subsequently, Nadeem became Head of Business at Toyota’s AI division after its acquisition of Lyft’s autonomous vehicle R&D program in 2021.

Prior to Lyft, Nadeem spent seven years at Opower, a groundbreaking SaaS company serving utilities. Opower, now part of Oracle, has delivered 6+ TWh of energy savings and helps homeowners save $1B+ per year. Nadeem was an SVP on Opower’s exec team, and he launched and led Opower’s businesses in Asia, Japan, and EMEA. Prior to Opower, Nadeem was a founding member of McKinsey’s Sustainability practice, where his client work focused on mobility electrification and residential energy efficiency.

Nadeem earned his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Originally from Wisconsin, Nadeem lives in San Francisco with his wife Kate and two children.
